JOLT YOUTH MINISTRY
Our goal is to train young adults to love and live like Jesus through weekly lessons, worship, and other events outside of the church. We are a safe place for young adults of all walks of life to hang out and learn more about Jesus and themselves.
JOLT – Joining Our Lives Together
JOLT is for both Middle School and High School students (6th – 12th grade)
JOLT Youth Ministry exists to support the youth of Durango, and provide safe, healthy environments for them to ask hard questions, learn how to do life, and have fun without peer pressure. We Join Our Lives Together as passionate and committed followers of Christ.
We have three weekly programs where youth can participate:
JOLT Youth Group – an After-school hangout time for Middle and High School students. We feed the students, play games, worship God, have biblical teachings relevant to their lives, and have small groups based on age and gender.
Our vans pick up Middle School students at several schools and bring them to the church for the start of activities at 4:00 pm. There is no charge for Tuesday JOLT activities, although we do need parent information and signed permission forms.
Every Tuesday during the school year from 4 till 8pm. Please note that Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers have different schedules.
Check out the calendar below for the detailed schedule
JOLTed Sunday School – Joining Our Lives Together (eating donuts) – Every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:45am in the Youth Loft for students 6-8th grade. Each week students gather to grow their faith and connect with others as we discuss how to live as followers of Christ in today’s world.
Confirmation – A yearly class for 8th graders and up, this class digs deep into our faith, building a solid foundation for the youth as they begin to embark on a new chapter in their lives. This class is geared towards helping students claim their faith as their own, and towards helping students develop their own, unique, personal relationship with Christ. (meets Sundays from 9:30 to 10:45am in the Rose Chapel – this is a closed class, registration for the next class begins September 2018).
Students do not have to be part of this church, or any church, in order to participate. We encourage everyone to bring their friends, which results in a diverse mix of students.
For more information, contact the Youth Director, Tim Schrag.
Tim Schrag is the Youth Director for 6th – 12th grade students. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2011 with an English Major and a Computer Science Minor, and enjoys puns and a good chicken enchilada. Most of all he loves to see God work in Middle School and High School students and see them grow in their faith while they grow up into young adults.
If you’re a parent or a student I’d love to get to know you and tell you what our Sunday School and Youth Group programs are all about! Give me a call or an email anytime:
