Saturday Evening 5:30
Preschool - 4th grades will start in the service with their families. They will be dismissed for Godly Play after congregational singing. We spend time learning the Bible stories in hands-on ways along with some time spent working individually on age-appropriate projects. Little ones (0-3) are welcome in the nursery. Godly Play follows the same schedule during the 11:00 service as well.
Sunday Morning 8:00
Joyful Noise Kids’ Choir meets weekly during the school year, September - May. We prepare music to share with the congregation, residents at a local senior home, and for special events. Join us as we praise our Lord! We begin in the sanctuary and are dismissed to the music room after congregational singing. Children 4 years and older are welcome to attend! Sunday Morning 9:30
Kids meet with other kids their own age during the entire service from September through May. During the summer, we meet as a combined class that begins with families during the service time. Preschool aged children meet as a class throughout the entire year and do not change during the summer. Our teachers do a great job leading the kids in meaningful and fun activities revolving around a Bible story. Please check hallway signs or the Welcome Center for classroom locations.
Sunday Morning 11:00
Godly Play, an imaginative, hands-on way of experiencing the Bible, is available during the 11:00 service and is geared for Preschool-3rd grade. Children begin the service time with family and are dismissed during the service to the Rose Chapel and then return to their families near the end of the service. This is the same children's programming that is used on Saturday Evenings at 5:30.
Nursery Care during Weekend Worship Services
Nursery care for children 0-3 years old is provided in our church nursery during every regular weekend service. Our nursery staff is prepared to spend this time with your child, helping them realize that church is a great place to be. There is no need to RSVP for service care. We have a monthly Bible story theme with activities each week to reinforce it, as well as parent take-home pages with ideas for continuing the story as a family.
Before coming to the nursery, please take your child to the bathroom. Then, sign your child in, make them a name tag, and pick up a pager so we can reach you throughout the building should we need to.
We will call you if your child does not settle into the group in a reasonable amount of time.
Kids Staying in the Service?While we do offer children's programming during all worship services, sometimes children and families prefer to remian together during the worship service. The Cry Room and Pew Packs make this more feasible. We encourage families to wroship together throughout the year.
Cry Room
If you would like to stay with your child during the worship service, yet need a little more space, please consider the Cry Room. This room is located up the stairs at the back of the sanctuary and is equipped with a window into the sanctuary, as well as a monitor with audio and video of the service.
Pew Packs
Sometimes a bag of crayons and coloring pictures make it much more possible for little ones to sit with their families through the service. Please ask an usher for a Ziploc bag full of these items for use during the service. Pew Packs are available during all services.
Mid-week / Evening Child Care at FUMC
We seek to provide a safe and fun place for your children while you serve and study. Many times childcare is the only thing keeping parents from becoming involved in activities at church. We realize this and seek to remove this barrier for your family’s involvement here at FUMC.
Nursery and childcare is provided free of charge. Our childcare staff provides care for a variety of ages during music practices, various Bible studies and other FUMC events. This care takes place in a different room than worship service nursery care. During this time, your child might make a craft, play on the playground or in the gym, play a board game, hear a story, or engage in a variety of other fun activities.
An RSVP for non-service events helps us make the best use of staff hours and budget constraints. Please call Kate Uebersax at 247-4213 to request care ahead of time or to RSVP for a regularly scheduled event.
