Each chapter within the books provides an individual issue or challenge encouraging us to let go of the false narratives that have come to define us, and offers a soul-training exercise to bring us closer to God. Whatever the reasons are...and I am sure there are many, let me encourage you to try again. Remember when you were a kid and you climbed to the top of the high dive for the first time, do you remember that feeling...the fear of the first step? At First United Methodist Church of Durango our purpose is to be Jesus Christ to the world. As the Director of Equipping and Adult Education Ministries one of our goals is to 'open doors of opportunity for others." I believe in 'connecting' people by guiding them into a deeper self-awareness of their spiritual gifts, providing tools and training, and by encouraging people to grow through study, serving and loving one another. I believe we all are called to be minsters and that you will be spiritually transformed by serving and volunterring within your area of giftedness. The role of the Equipping Ministries is to help identidy your gifts and provide the encourament and tools for you to serve and to grow. How are you being Jesus Christ to the world?
